Parish Emergency Operations Plan

The latest update of the West Baton Rouge Parish All Hazards Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) Update is now available for public review. For the last few months, the West Baton Rouge Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness in partnership with International Consulting Group LLC (ICG) and various sub committees have been updating the current EOP. The plan update is required in order to meet the requirements of the Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG) 101 and ensures the parish eligibility for certain federal disaster assistance programs.

The EOP plan serves as the framework for mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery to natural, technological and man-made disasters. The purpose of the All Hazards Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) is to establish West Baton Rouge’s Emergency Operations System which organizes the state’s response to emergencies and disasters while providing for the safety and welfare of its citizens. EOP covers the full range of complex and changing requirements prior to, during, and following an emergency or disaster.

The plan update is funded by the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) as well as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Six public meetings were held in order to solicit input from local residents, stakeholders, private industry, business leaders, parish elected officials, and elected officials from all municipalities. These meetings were held at the West Baton Rouge Parish Council Chambers, located at 880 N Alexander Avenue, Port Allen, LA 70767 and Offices of West Baton Rouge Homeland Security Emergency Preparedness and 9-1-1 at 2413 Ernest Wilson Dr, Port Allen, LA 70767 and also held virtually via Zoom.

Hard copies of the plan will also be available for review at the West Baton Rouge Parish Council Chamber and at each Town Hall of the following municipalities - Town of Brusly, Town of Addis and City of Port Allen. Deadline for comments and suggestions is Monday, June 6, 2022 at 5:00 PM.
