Community Centers

The community centers in West Baton Rouge Parish are owned and operated by the West Baton Rouge Parish Parks & Recreation Department. Bookings and rentals are handled at the Parks & Recreation Office for the following locations:

  • Addis Community Center
  • Addis VFW Hall
  • Erwinville Community Center
  • Port Allen Community Center
  • Williams & Lee Community Center

Booking Guidelines

  • Only adults (18 years or older) who are West Baton Rouge Parish residents (live/reside in West Baton Rouge Parish) are eligible to reserve/book parish centers. (Being a landowner or business owner alone does not qualify.)
  • Proof of identification and residency must be provided at the time of booking. All documents must have the same name and West Baton Rouge Parish address.
    • Accepted ID: U.S. Passport (not expired), State-Issued Driver’s License/ID (not expired), or U.S. Military ID (not expired).
    • Proof of Residency: Voter Registration Card or Two (2) current bills (vehicle registration may substitute for one bill).
  • West Baton Rouge Parish Community Centers shall NOT be reserved for personal profit or gain. Only organizations having non-profit status (501c3 document required) may reserve a center for fundraising or revenue-generating events.

Advance Booking Policies

  • General reservations: Can be booked up to 6 months in advance.
  • Weddings/Wedding Receptions: Can be booked 1 year in advance (only by the bride, groom, or their parents/grandparents who reside in WBR Parish).
    • Any additional date for rehearsals, setup, or decorations must be booked within the 6-month window.
  • Weekend bookings (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays) are limited to two (2) per individual per 6-month period.
  • The two 6-month periods are:
    • January 1 – June 30
    • July 1 – December 31

Alcohol Policy & Permit Requirements

  • Alcohol is permitted at private events, but specific rules apply.
  • If alcohol is present, the renter must hire a uniformed law enforcement officer to remain on-site for the entire event.
  • If alcohol will be sold, a Special Event Alcohol Permit must be obtained from the Louisiana Office of Alcohol & Tobacco Control (ATC) before the event.
  • Alcohol is strictly prohibited at youth functions where 50% or more of attendees are under 18.

How to Obtain an Alcohol Permit (If Selling Alcohol)

  1. Reserve your date with the WBR Parks & Recreation Office and complete all necessary paperwork.
  2. Visit the West Baton Rouge Parish Revenue Department to request a Letter of No Objection for alcohol sales.
  3. Once approved, the Parish President’s Office will issue the Letter of No Objection.
  4. Submit the letter along with a permit application to the Louisiana Office of Alcohol & Tobacco Control (ATC).
  5. Once the permit is approved, provide a copy to the WBR Parks & Recreation Office before your event.
  6. The original permit must be displayed at the event.

Security & Enforcement

  • A uniformed law enforcement officer (with a radio and vehicle) must be present the entire time alcohol is available.
  • For events in Addis: The officer must be from the Town of Addis Police Department (no exceptions).
  • The required number of officers is determined by the law enforcement agency, not by WBR Parks & Recreation.
  • Violations of alcohol policies may result in event cancellation, deposit forfeiture, and possible legal action.

Community Center Booking Fees

Accepted Payments: Check, Money Order, or Credit/Debit Card (3% non-refundable convenience fee applies). NO CASH.

  • Weekend Rental (Fri-Sun): $250 per day + $250 refundable deposit
  • Weekday Rental (Mon-Thurs): $125 per day + $250 refundable deposit
  • Meeting Rooms (Mon-Thurs): $30 per day (Meeting rooms cannot be booked Friday-Sunday)

Hours for Bookings

  • Community Centers: 9:00 AM – 1:00 AM
  • Function must end by 1:00 AM.
  • Additional hour until 2:00 AM is allowed only for removing belongings from the building.
  • All bookings are for the full day. No partial-hour bookings are available.

Booking Pricing for Port Allen Pavilion

  • Booking Fee: $75 per day (due at the time of booking).
  • Refundable Deposit: $100 (due at the time of booking).
